BCNY develops programs to cultivate positive qualities in members and strives to continually deepen and broaden our impact.  Job Summary  We are a COVID-19 proactive organization that follows applicable health and safety regulations to help protect our members and staff. The Music Engineering Teacher will work with our teen population to teach a basic music engineering course.  Responsibilities Teach members how to set up a recording studioInstruct members on recording techniques including mic placement, vocal tracking, and live instrument captureTeach members about essential studio equipment and studio equipment etiquetteTeach the fundamentals of engineering, including recording, mixing, and editingInstruct members on how to balance audio levels, use effects, and prepare music for final release.Provide hands-on mixing tutorials: EQ, compression, reverb, automation, leveling, and exporting tracks for streaming platforms.Guide students in creating original songs, remixes, and collaborative projectsIntroduce members to DAWs such as Pro Tools & Logic Pro XMaintain accurate records of lesson content, student progress, attendance, and performance evaluationsCreate and present a final project based on what they have learned Qualifications Post-secondary training or college credits; or six months to one-year related experience in music production, recording, and engineering (portfolio or demo reel appreciated). Previous experience in youth development, education, or afterschool. Associate’s degree (A.A) preferred.
