Preferred Qualifications Position Summary A Parents as Teachers National Center (PATNC) certified parent educator provides the information, support, and encouragement that the parents need to help their child develop optimally during the crucial early years of life. This is done by providing education in the form of personal visits, group meetings, screenings, and linkages to a network of resources for parents and children. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Possesses effective communication skills and is comfortable relating to strangers. Develops trusting relationships with parents as a model for parent-child relationships. Uses appropriate work-related behavior, dress and attitude toward fellow professionals. Establishes and maintains appropriate professional relationships with families. Adheres to required confidentiality practices. Duties/Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities Serve the number of families determined by program guidelines including face-to-face educational visits and group educational meetings. Percentage of time Duties/Responsibilities Complete all required documentation regarding home visits, attendance records for group meetings and other Parents as Teachers events, screening summaries, and all essential records required by the program, in timely and comprehensive manner.
