*Overview*Ensure all your application information is up to date and in order before applying for this opportunity.We are seeking a passionate, adaptive, and mission-driven Multidisciplinary Teacher/Tutor to join our innovative, non-traditional learning community. This role supports middle and high school students, many of whom are at risk due to academic, behavioral, or socio-emotional challenges. We focus on whole-person learning, integrating academic development with social-emotional growth, life skills, and creative expression.This is not a conventional classroom teaching role. The ideal candidate brings flexibility, empathy, and a commitment to building meaningful relationships while delivering personalized, interdisciplinary instruction in a trauma-informed, student-centered environment.*Responsibilities** Design and deliver interdisciplinary instruction across core subjects (e.g., English, Math, Science, Social Studies) aligned with students’ individual learning goals, abilities, and interests.* Provide 1:1 and small group tutoring, academic coaching, and enrichment in both in-person and alternative (e.g., hybrid/virtual, community-based) settings.* Collaborate with program staff to integrate social-emotional learning (SEL), restorative practices, executive functioning support, and life skills into daily instruction.* Support students in developing critical thinking, self-awareness, and self-advocacy through experiential, inquiry-based learning.* Build trust and authentic connections with students, serving as a consistent and caring adult presence.* Monitor student progress through formative assessment, reflection, and collaborative goal setting.*Qualifications ** Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred); interdisciplinary or special education background a plus.* Minimum 2 years of experience working with middle and/or high school students, preferably in alternative education, youth development, or therapeutic settings.* Demonstrated success working with at-risk or underserved youth, particularly those with learning differences, trauma histories, or behavioral challenges.* Strong classroom management and relational teaching skills rooted in empathy, cultural competence, and equity.* Comfortable designing and implementing non-traditional, project-based, and student-driven learning experiences.* Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.* Flexibility, creativity, and a growth mindset in navigating dynamic learning environments.*Preferred Experience** Training in trauma-informed education, restorative justice, SEL, or mindfulness.* Familiarity with IEPs, 504 plans, or differentiated instruction.* Experience with outdoor education, arts integration, vocational skills, or therapeutic education models.*Why Join Us?** Be part of a visionary team redefining what education can be for youth who need it most.* Work in a setting that values creativity, autonomy, and human connection.* Make a lasting impact in the lives of students by empowering the whole person, not just the academic learner.Job Type: Full-timePay: $55,000.00 - $57,000.00 per yearSchedule:* 8 hour shiftAbility to Commute:* Colorado Springs, CO 80918 (Required)Ability to Relocate:* Colorado Springs, CO 80918: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
