POSITION PURPOSE:
As a dedicated Special Education Teacher, you will plan and provide engaging classroom learning experiences for students in grades 6 to 8. Your role will ensure a supportive environment that fosters the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of each student, paving the way to their success. You will supervise students in various school settings, monitor and assess student outcomes, and actively communicate with students, parents, and staff. Your responsibilities also include developing, selecting, and modifying instructional materials to cater to the needs of all learners, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the proper use and care of educational equipment and facilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
In-depth knowledge of curriculum integration, educational policies, and effective teaching practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strategic problem-solving abilities backed by data analysis.
Capability to design course objectives and outlines in accordance with guidelines.
Experience in promoting multicultural education and diverse perspectives in instruction.
Proficient in integrating technology into the curriculum.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Education in a relevant subject area.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
Must hold, or be eligible for, a Professional Educator's License in a teaching content area.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in a relevant special education field.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physically, the role requires the ability to handle office equipment and classroom tools such as computers, scanners, and copiers. Effective communication is essential. At times, you might need to lift or carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds. The position involves significant periods of standing and walking, fulfilling the requirements for sedentary work.
In the work environment, you will engage with students, staff, and the public within a school setting.
