*Position Reports to: School Principal*You could be just the right applicant for this job Read all associated information and make sure to apply.*Position Description:*We are looking for a Social Studies teacher who combines the ability to motivate and educate, to develop academic as well as character skills, and to make learning relevant both now and for the future. We look for teachers who have a desire to make a difference in the lives of students*Responsibilities** Provide instruction in the core curriculum areas for which employed; make appropriate use of instructional resources and technologies.* Support the Minnesota Social Studies Standards; implement the goals and objectives of the District and the school and/or program to which assigned* Evaluate student performance in accordance with systems used by school and/or District; promote student achievement; maintain required student records; make related reports to the principal as prescribed or authorized by Executive Director.* Perform classroom management duties; enforce rules governing the conduct of students; take appropriate disciplinary action with students when necessary.* Provides differentiated instructional methods and content to ensure student mastery of content* Use data such as screening, diagnostic information, progress monitoring, and daily work samples to adjust instruction and practice as well as target feedback.* Promotes a learning environment that is welcoming, respectful, friendly and academically challenging* Connect with families via phone calls, emails, conferences and school events* Other related duties as assigned*Qualifications** Bachelor's degree (required)* Demonstrated success in raising the achievement levels of traditionally under-served students (strongly preferred)* Experience working in urban schools (preferred)* State teaching license in the related field_As an equal opportunity employer, we hire without consideration to race, religion, creed, color, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, or disability._Job Type: Full-timePay: From $47,189.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* Dental insurance* Employee assistance program* Flexible spending account* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Retirement plan* Vision insurancePhysical Setting:* Charter schoolSchedule:* 8 hour shift* Monday to FridayLanguage:* English (Required)Ability to Commute:* Minneapolis, MN 55411 (Required)Ability to Relocate:* Minneapolis, MN 55411: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
