Mid-Michigan Leadership Academy, a Title I School chartered by CMU, is a student-centered school, focusing on the academic success of all students through the transfer of knowledge from the traditional classroom environment to real world applications. - The Teacher enables the success of student academic achievement through the implementation of a rigorous curriculum following the common core state standards.
- The Teacher has an oversight role for all students within the school setting, to ensure a safe academic environment conducive to learning.
- The Teacher ensures proper planning and follow up for the academic progress of all students.
- The Teacher ensures accurate and timely reporting in order to ensure all student academic needs are being met in a timely fashion.
- The Teacher fulfills a requirement of 30 student contact hours per week. The primary assignment may be a specific grade level (including homeroom duties) or subject teaching to multiple classes in regular or intensive classes.
- The teacher may also be assigned additional non-instructional duties such as supervising recess or lunch. The Teacher participates in 4 hours of combined PLC and PD work throughout the week.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and a passion for teaching. This position requires an individual who can create engaging lesson plans, foster a love for math, and provide instruction that meets the diverse learning needs of students.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
- Develop and implement comprehensive math lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
- Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students
- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff
- Regular and predictable attendance
Cognitive Demands:
- Supervision of multiple students at once
- Establishing routines and procedures
- Maintaining a safe and orderly environment
- Create and implement instructional plans
- Participate in continuous professional development
- Effective oral and written communication skills
Physical Demands:
- Occasionally lift/move objects weighing up to 25lbs
- Stand and walk frequently
- Occasionally sit on the floor or bend down/squat
- Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year
- Withstand a moderate noise level
- Be able to perform first aid/CPR if necessary
- Assist/lift students, as necessary
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
- Strong knowledge of math curriculum and state standards.
