About the RoleAs our new ELA teacher, you’ll guide scholars through the magic of literature and language. You'll design lessons that ignite curiosity, build essential literacy skills, and foster the kind of discussion that builds not only stronger readers and writers, but stronger humans.
Scope of WorkDeliver engaging ELA instruction aligned to ARLCS curriculum and Arkansas state standards
Cultivate a classroom culture rooted in respect, high expectations, and joyful learning
Use data to drive instruction and provide meaningful feedback to scholars
Integrate culturally responsive texts and practices that reflect and affirm scholar identities
Collaborate with your content team and instructional coaches to plan rigorous, relevant learning experiences
Build strong relationships with scholars, families, and colleagues to create a supportive learning community
Incorporate technology meaningfully into instruction to build 21st-century skills
Participate in ongoing professional learning to continuously grow in your craft
Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or related field (Master’s preferred)
Valid Arkansas teaching license (or eligibility to obtain one) in Middle Level ELA
Strong knowledge of literacy instruction, writing frameworks, and reading comprehension strategies
High emotional intelligence, growth mindset, and a belief that all scholars can achieve
Passion for working with middle schoolers and a heart for education equity
