We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Mandarin Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of Mandarin Chinese, a deep understanding of effective language pedagogy, and a passion for inspiring students to learn about Chinese language and culture. This position requires creativity, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Duties will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate Mandarin language curriculum, lesson plans, and teaching materials.
  • Instruct students in Mandarin Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and writing, as well as cultural understanding.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
  • Create a positive, supportive, and immersive learning environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for language learning.
  • Integrate cultural components into lessons to enhance students' understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture.
  • Collaborate with other faculty and staff to support the overall educational goals of Liberation Academy.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities relevant to language instruction and pedagogy.
  • Adhere to all school policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Preferred Qualifications:

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mandarin Chinese, Education, or a related field.
  • Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese (both spoken and written).
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Mandarin Chinese to [Specify target age group/grade level] students.
  • Strong understanding of second language acquisition theories and communicative language teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging learning environment.
