Position: After School Teacher Reports To: Lower School Principal FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Description: The After School Teacher is responsible for the supervision of Pre-K to Lower School age children during the after-school hours. Responsibilities: Supervision of students’ safety in the classroom, on the playground and on other campus facilities. Assistance with homework. Preparation and distribution of snack. Planning and overseeing of classroom activities such as: crafts, games, Christian based discussions and group activities. Communicates with parents regarding homework progress and behavior. Observes all rules and regulations of the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children. Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds. Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the MPCS guidelines. Supports the value of an education founded in Christian values. Supports the philosophy and mission of Mount Pisgah Christian School. Qualifications: A mission-driven individual who demonstrates an eagerness to serve in a faith-based academic environment & genuine ability to connect with and serve young people in a Christian community. Communications: Effective written, verbal, and editing communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences. Collaboration: Has student-centered-focus and ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including students, families, faculty, staff, and community partners.
