Additional Information: Position Overview: Eastlake High School, home of the Wolves, is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE high school mathematics teacher to teach Precalculus and Algebra 2 . Our students are highly motivated and often advanced in their mathematical understanding. We are looking for an educator who can challenge and support students at a high level while fostering a classroom environment that is inclusive, engaging, and student-centered. THE DATES OF THIS ASSIGNMENT ARE 9/29/2025-11/28/2025 (41 DAYS).
Key Responsibilities:
Teach Precalculus and Algebra 2 in alignment with state and district standards.
Develop and implement rigorous, relevant, and differentiated lessons that engage advanced high school learners.
Collaborate actively in a highly-supportive and reflective mathematics department , including participation in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to share curriculum, assessments, and instructional strategies.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and grades.
Communicate effectively and consistently with students, families, and colleagues regarding student performance and classroom expectations.
Use a variety of formative and summative assessments to guide instruction and provide meaningful feedback.
Foster a growth mindset and support all types of adolescent learners in achieving their full potential.
Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification with appropriate endorsement in mathematics.
Demonstrated success teaching advanced math courses at the high school level.
Strong content knowledge in Algebra 2, Precalculus, and related mathematics disciplines.
Commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and student-centered instruction.
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with academically advanced or accelerated students.
Familiarity with standards-based grading and data-driven instruction.
Proficiency with digital tools that support teaching, learning, and communication.
Salary: Long-term substitute assignments in excess of twenty (20) days will be paid at the contract teacher rate. See posted on website. This position does not meet requirements for state health benefits. Long Term Substitute Assignments: Long-term substitute assignments in excess of twenty (20) days will be paid at the contract teacher rate, retroactive to the first day of assignment, except that when, in the judgment of Human Resources, the assignment appears at the onset to be a long-term assignment, the contract teacher rate may be paid from the beginning of the assignment. Substitutes can become eligible for benefits. See section 22.1.1 through 22.1.4 of the .
