Closing Date: Until filled 25/26 LONG TERM SUBSITUTE - SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER (AUGUST - JUNE) 1 year contract only Exeter High School in Exeter, NH is seeking a long-term substitute to provide case management and specialized instruction for students identified as requiring special education services.
The ideal candidate will have experience with reading, writing, and math instruction for students performing below grade level. Responsibilities include conducting progress monitoring, developing IEPs, presenting at special education team meetings, and collaborating with both special education and general education teachers to deliver meaningful learning experiences for students. Position: Under the direct supervision of Exeter High School building administration.
Essential Functions: Develops Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) for students. Works with students individually and in small groups to provide specialized instruction as written in an IEP. Conducts acadmemic assessments for the purpose of identifying areas of need and making recommendations for IEP planning. Assists students and teaching staff in implementing students' IEPs. Coordinates with administrators and other teaching staff members to ascertain individual student's abilities and needs. Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping. Ensures effective communication with students, staff, and parents. Maintains confidentiality of student information. Additional Duties: Perform any other related duties as assigned.
