POSITION OVERVIEW
Arrowood Elementary School (Grades 3-5) is seeking dedicated, passionate, and highly motivated Literacy and Numeracy Specialist Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing direct instruction to students with a primary focus on mathematics and English language art and will need to be able to foster a positive learning environment, engage students in dynamic lessons, and promote academic achievement. This full-time position requires a commitment to student development and collaboration with fellow educators and staff to provide a well-rounded educational experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The following qualifications are preferred:
· Five or more years of successful teaching experience.
· Knowledge of MTSS and NWEA.
· Experience as a teacher leader.
· Lower Elementary teaching experience.
The following qualifications are required:
· Successful teaching experience (with at-risk students preferred).
· Michigan certificated teacher endorsed to teach Lower Education students
· Demonstrated ability to have students learn and appreciate mathematics
· Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with others as part of a team.
· Demonstrated understanding of best practices in math and literacy.
· Demonstrated understanding of Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) and its framework.
· Experience/training in comprehension strategies and comprehension instruction.
· Demonstrated life-long learner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Plans and provides appropriate interventions for identified students.
· Provides intervention students in the MTSS/RTI program
· Assists with progress monitoring of students using specialized approaches
· Participates in periodic student program progress meetings.
· Participates in periodic grade level and instructional team planning sessions
· Uses data to drive instruction including to prescribe and provide intervention for students of all levels
· Remains current with best instructional practices, particularly for mathematics.
· Daily, in-person attendance is required
· Other duties as assigned.
Salary and Standard Employee Benefit per STEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
