Overview
As a LifeWise Teacher in the LifeWise Manchester Community Schools program, you will demonstrate in-depth Bible knowledge and outstanding teaching abilities. Our ideal candidate is an active church member with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is caring, perceptive, and proficient in teaching children.
Job Description
Teach LifeWise Classes Implement the LifeWise curriculum in the classroom
Invest in building relationships with students and praying for them regularly
Create and maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating classroom environment through various teaching techniques and discipline that is redemptive in nature
Maintain Records Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to LifeWise Program Director and/or school officials as needed
Maintain accurate class rosters including health concerns and special needs of students as noted on parent permission slips
Prepare adequate information and materials for a substitute teacher
Maintain the Classroom Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-ordered classroom
Know procedures for dealing with emergency situations
Purchase classroom supplies as needed using funds provided by Program Director
Communicate Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community
Attend annual school open house and other outreach events as available
Maintain ongoing dialogue with school personnel to stay apprised of class schedule changes and ensure student well-being
Build relationships with volunteers and keep them apprised of schedule changes
Submit regular updates, stories, and photos to Program Director
Other Duties Complete the LifeWise Teacher Certification
Participate in the annual LifeWise Summit
Attend virtual monthly LifeWise Teacher's Lounge meetings
Help with fundraising events as needed
Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of two years of teaching experience in either a school or church setting.
A mature personal Christian faith consistent with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
Active membership in a church in which teaching aligns with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
