Job Description
Summary
In 2021, when I became the pastor of Zion Baptist Church, God gave me a vision of children filling the sanctuary, lifting their voices in praise. From that vision, Zion Christian Academy was born. Our mission is to provide children with a strong foundation in spiritual life, academic excellence, and physical growth. We are committed to nurturing well-rounded individuals who not only thrive in their education but also embody Christ’s love through kindness, service, and community impact.
At Zion, we strive to raise a generation that lives out their faith by sharing God’s love with their neighbors and making a meaningful difference in the world around them. We cultivate a loving, faith-filled environment where children are supported spiritually, academically, and emotionally. By planting seeds of truth, compassion, and curiosity, we aim to inspire lifelong growth.
Zion Christian Academy is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a deep commitment to fostering a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. This role involves leading classroom activities, developing and implementing curriculum, and supporting each child’s unique growth and potential.

Leads classroom activities that support physical education and overall wellness, while fostering an inclusive environment where all students feel valued and supported. Communicates regularly with parents, caregivers, and staff to share student progress and address concerns. Observes and assesses children's development, applying early intervention strategies when appropriate. Collaborates with fellow educators to ensure a cohesive and enriching learning experience across subjects. Maintains a safe, organized, and nurturing classroom environment conducive to learning.

The ability to create and lead engaging physical education activities that promote health and wellness among preschoolers is also important. A commitment to ongoing professional development in early childhood education is encouraged.
Benefits
Offered benefits include an employee discount, flexible scheduling, paid time off, and a referral program.
