Your Role as a Lead Teacher:
Engage & Educate – Deliver lessons according to the classroom teacher’s plans.
Mentorship - Serve as a mentor to provisionally licensed teachers
Classroom Management – Implement effective behavioral systems and trauma-informed care strategies.
Student Support – Provide accommodations for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Collaboration – Work closely with paraprofessionals and school staff to create a structured, safe learning environment.
Crisis Management – Respond to situations and assist students in maintaining a positive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For:
Education – Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college
Licensure - Holds or eligible for a Virginia teaching license, with an endorsement in appropriate subject area
Knowledge - Demonstrated expertise of subject content, curriculum, and methodology of effective teaching
Experience – Prior experience in education or working with students (preferred, not required).
Adaptability – Ability to work with different classrooms, grade levels, and student needs.
Technology Skills – Comfortable with instructional technology.
Certifications (Upon Hire) – CPR, First Aid, Crisis Management, and a driver’s license with a good record.
