Description Kiddie Academy of Abingdon, the corporately owned Academy, has a rewarding opportunity for a patient, flexible and nurturing person to join our team as a  Full Time Lead Teacher – Pre- Kindergarten. About this role: You’ll use your caring attitude, creative nature and excellent communication skills in the classroom to foster curriculum-based play. Among your responsibilities will be: Planning and implementing engaging lesson plans that align with Kiddie Academy’s Life Essentials® curriculum.

Providing general classroom supervision, which includes personal care, hygiene and positive guidance for the children.

Preparing and implementing activities for children that stress physical, social and emotional growth.

Providing materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and in active play.

Use the Ready, Set, Go program within Kiddie Academy’s Life Essentials® curriculum to cultivate learning experiences where 4-year-old’s creativity can thrive. Actively reinforce and extend material learned throughout the year to encourage readiness for school.

Qualifications

Qualifications 1-year minimum early childhood education work experience

15-hour and 90 Hour Preschool Certifications required

Must meet all requirements stipulated by the state of Maryland and local regulatory agencies

Must be able to lift 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist high and pass a medical exam/physical
