Job Description
The Lead Teacher supports the growth and development of the children in their care by providing a safe and nurturing environment, embracing the individuality of each student, and focusing on their progress cognitively, socially, and emotionally.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and provide developmentally appropriate activities across all developmental domains to create an instructional program that meets the needs of the whole child.
Ensure implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and ongoing assessment.
Attend and participate in all relevant staff, center, and community meetings, activities, and events.
Track children's progress and report to parents.
Work cooperatively with other staff members, and accept supervision and help promote a positive atmosphere.
Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations regarding a Preschool Center in the State of California.
Exhibits pride and enthusiasm in the profession, continues professional growth, and remain current on issues and trends in the early childhood education field.
Qualifications Knowledge of and ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations regarding a Preschool Center in the State of California.
Ability to advocate in the community for the students and their program.
Strong attitude of acceptance and values the cultural, ethnic, and linguistic diversity of participating families.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Must hold a valid California Child Development Teacher, Master Teacher, or Site Supervisor Permit.
Minimum 24 Units ECE/CD including core courses plus 16 General Education (GE) Units.
Minimum experience of 175 days of 3+ hours per day within 4 years.
Pediatric CPR and first aid training through an approved program and holds a current pediatric CPR and first aid certificate.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Pay Range: $21.00- $23.00/Hour. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
Additional Information Wonderful College Prep Academy offers highly competitive compensation, commensurate with experience.
