Wheatley Montessori School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lead Montessori Teacher for the Primary classroom (ages 3-6). The ideal candidate embraces the Montessori Philosophy and brings warmth, leadership and a deep respect for our dynamic learning environment.

Duties

Alignment with organizational mission and values Lead and manage a Montessori Primary classroom in accordance with AMI/AMS standards Passion for the Montessori pedagogy Prepare a thoughtful, engaging and orderly environment to support each child’s development Observe, access and support individual learning journeys through detailed record-keeping Collaborate with classroom assistants and school leadership to ensure a nurturing and cohesive experience Communicate regularly with classroom assistants and school leadership to ensure a nurturing and cohesive experience Communicate regularly with parents; fostering strong school-family partnerships Participate in staff meetings, school events and ongoing professional development Create and implement Montessori-aligned lesson plans tailored to the developmental needs of children

Requirements

Montessori Certification from an accredited program (AMI or AMS) - Required Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field - Optional Minimum 2 years of experience in a Montessori Primary classroom - Preferred Strong interpersonal, organizational and classroom management skills A passion for working with young children and a commitment to their growth and development
