5/23/2025 Summary As a Teacher, you will be instrumental in fostering a nurturing and educational environment for young learners. Reporting to the Director, your role encompasses classroom management, curriculum development, and effective communication with students and parents. Your core competencies in early childhood education and behavior management will enhance the learning experience, while your premium skills in childhood development and special education will support diverse learning needs. Job Description Curriculum Plan and implement intentional, developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences that promote: social and emotional development, physical development and health, cognitive development, language and literacy development, and executive function development Use knowledge of developmental period of early childhood and the individual child to make evidence-based decisions that support each child Vary instruction methods: storytelling, play as a core teaching practice, etc Embed assessment-related activities in the curriculum and in daily routines to facilitate authentic assessment Submit lesson plans to the administration by the last Thursday of each month Environment Establish and maintain a safe, caring, inclusive and healthy learning environment Classroom is clean and tidy consistent with with health and safety standards Harmful/dangerous materials are stored away from student access (cleaning supplies, sharp objects, furniture or toys that are potentially hazardous, etc) Prepared and available in the classroom at 9:00 to receive students. Maintain up to date CPR certification by completing CPR training every two (2) years Maintain awareness of emergency (fire, tornado, lockdown) procedures Encourage interpersonal interactions and assist with verbal conflict resolution Structure the school day to ensure students are given reasonable time to use the restroom, eat a snack and lunch, play outside, and explore materials indoors Student Development Observe and document children’s learning and development using guidelines established by the profession Submit bi-annual documentation for each student to the Director. Support and Relationships Meet with administration throughout the school year, both informally and during age level meetings to communicate: challenges, concerns, and ideas Collaborate as partners with families in young children’s development and learning through respectful, reciprocal relationships and engagement Demonstrate positive, caring, supportive relationships and interactions Submit teacher reimbursement history to Director Continued Education Participate in professional development days scheduled in the academic calendar Modify teaching practices by expanding and updating content knowledge, resources, and pedagogy Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred) Proven classroom management and teaching experience Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with students and parents CPR Certification (will be provided upon employment) Experience in play-based curriculum development (preferred) Knowledge of behavior management and childhood development principles Can easily lift forty (40) pounds
