Position Summary

The Classroom Teacher is a cornerstone of Lawrence Public Schools. As a Music Teacher, your area of expertise in music will be used to enrich the academic lives of the students of the Frost Middle School.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Take responsibility to be a strong, positive force daily in their classroom - consistently and thoughtfully motivate students to work hard and want to learn. Design, implement, and collaborate around high-quality shared curricula that incorporate research-based strategies to help students master Massachusetts and Common Core standards. Motivate students to reach high achievement by setting class-wide and individual goals and provide specific and actionable feedback to students on their progress towards academic goals. Build supportive working relationships with fellow teachers, associate teachers, and staff, and provide regular feedback to help develop associate teachers. Other responsibilities as needed and assigned by administration.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Prior experience teaching music preferred. Ability to implement a safe, purposeful classroom environment that prioritizes learning for all students. Ability to collaborate with other teachers, instructional leaders, and partners to ensure instruction is meeting the needs of all students.

Qualifications & Requirements

Massachusetts Teacher Certification in appropriate area. Proficient in English. Bachelor's Degree Required Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
