Position at King's Schools This is a  Part-Time  position at King's School in Shoreline, WA. KING’S SCHOOLS MINISTRY PURPOSE STATEMENT Purpose Statement:Building resilient disciples of Christ through Christian education. POSITION SUMMARY The KKC Group Lead Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, fun and thriving, age-appropriate environment. Work as a team with other KKC staff to provide direct instruction & supervision to students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (General overview and may not include all details of responsibilities) DUTIES Support the KKC Director in maintaining a quality program that upholds the standards, goals and overall mission of King’s Kids Club. Supervise students in small & large group settings Implement daily program activities. May be asked to assist in planning activities. Assist the Director in maintaining a cleanwell-functioning, safe environment. Set up the area daily. Responds directly to the needs of students. Creatively solve problems and resolve concerns with students. Perform job tasks independently and in a timely manner without direct supervision. Intentionally Develop positive relationships with students and their families. Know and comply with King’s policies and procedures Maintain flexibility and change direction quickly in response to a variety of situations. Ensures that equipment is clean, safe, set up and stored properly. Work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers, students and families. Perform other duties as assigned. Conduct that reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC). SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS CHRIST CENTERED Belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior Is a committed Christian who is dedicated to continued spiritual growth and development as evidenced through a growing personal walk with God (. daily spiritual rhythms of prayer, fellowship, Bible study, etc). Prayerfully seeks God’s will in their own lives and in their ministry at CRISTA. Engages our ministry including staff and colleagues through prayer, participation in spiritual practices, leading devotionals and other spiritual practices. Affirms, aligns with and supports CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC). Conducts themselves in a manner which reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC). Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader. EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent. EXPERIENCE Prior experience working with children. LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION Must have within 30 days of hire the following: Portable Background Check Card, HIV and blood borne pathogen training, and child CPR/First Aid. SOFTWARE / EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE Office 365, Check in/out software, Ability to use internet on the work desktop, laptop, iPad and iPhone. OTHER CONSIDERATIONS 18 years of age or older Able to assist Kindergarten-6th grade students with homework Able to work well with multi-ethnic, culturally diverse students and parent population. Able to work with the public in a friendly and courteous manner. Maintain confidentiality and composure in a busy, open setting. Able to communicate clearly with children and parents. Display a positive, patient and professional attitude. Flexible and able to change direction quickly in response to a variety of situations. Responsible for keeping Licensure/Certification updated and current. Provide documentation to the Director. Follow King’s Elementary KKC Standards of Dress as outlined by Director. Able to work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers, students and families. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION Pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree working with children.
