Summit Christian Academy is seeking a passionate and qualified Grammar School Teacher to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a classical and engaging learning environment for students in Kindergarten, fostering a love of learning, and ensuring academic and social-emotional growth.This is a part-time, in person role. Teaching days are Tuesdays & Thursdays, between 8am-330pm. Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and learning objectives. Implement pacing guide and maintain assignment posts in the online platform. Enter lesson plans and assignments into Gradelink.Foster an organized, respectful and Christ-loving classroom environment that focuses on the good, true and beautiful.Create a positive and supportive culture that believes in home discipleship and loves encouraging homeschool families.Consistently exhibit spiritual maturity and be a role model of Christian love, faith, truthfulness, and virtue, both in the classroom and in your personal life.Have a thorough knowledge of and interest in the subjects assigned to teach Differentiate instruction to support all students who show up prepared and wanting to learn.Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and school events.Maintain accurate student records and comply with all school policies and procedures.Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student learning and school initiatives.Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other extracurricular activities as needed.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge Skills and Ability Required:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred2 years of teaching experience in the age/subject you are teachingExcellent classroom management and organizational skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsPassion for working with children and a commitment to student successProficiency in using technology in the classroomAbility to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.Must be able to pass a criminal background check Preferences: Strong understanding of Classical Education & homeschool experience preferredTeaching certification not required.Physical Requirements:Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.This job description is not intended to be a complete delineation of all the possible responsibilities of the position.
