Davidson Charter Academy in Lexington, NC is seeking candidates for a Full-Time Kindergarten Teacher Assistant to join our team!

We are looking for a responsible and energetic Teacher Assistant to join the team at our growing school. As a teacher assistant, you will work with students and perform additional tasks to support teachers in providing a comprehensive educational program. Our ideal candidate is industrious, cooperative and knowledgeable about educational best practices and child development.

Teacher Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver whole-class instruction
• Work with students individually or in small groups for extension or remediation
• 
  Help prepare materials for lessons
• 
  Ensure that students have all materials necessary for class activities
  
  
• 
  Provide extra help as needed to students
• 
  Maintain detailed records of students progress on instructional or behavioral goals
• 
  Grade assignments and record results
• 
  Coordinate with classroom teachers to determine daily tasks
• 
  Supervise students in various settings including classrooms, playgrounds, and field trips
• 
  Enforce school rules and policies
• 
  Perform all other duties as assigned

Teachers Assistant Qualifications

• At least one year of relevant experience in an educational or childcare setting is required
• 
  High school diploma or GED required
• 
  Associate or bachelors degree in education or related field preferred
• 
  Certification in child first aid and CPR preferred
  
  
• 
  Strong collaboration skills; able to work well with a team
• 
  Effective at multitasking; can prioritize tasks based on importance and deadlines

HOURS: Full-Time

Pay: $16 per hour

Health Benefits & Retirement Options

All teacher assistants at DCA are on one-year contracts. Contract renewal is contingent upon successful performance, completion of duties and expectations, as well as funding.
