Position Overview
The teacher will be responsible for managing a caseload, delivering services as outlined in student plans, collaborating with staff and families, and ensuring full compliance with federal and state special education regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in accordance with their IEPs and 504 Plans in a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Use targeted instructional strategies and techniques to improve cognitive, language, sensory, motor, and memory development
Deliver academic instruction using research-based methods, including phonics, multi-sensory approaches, and differentiated learning techniques
Establish clear learning objectives for all lessons and communicate them effectively to students
Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment by implementing school-wide behavioral expectations and management systems
Maintain accurate service logs, lesson plans, and student progress data in compliance with legal and administrative requirements
Serve as the primary case manager (“point person”) for assigned students, ensuring services are delivered and documented appropriately
Attend and actively contribute to all IEP and 504 meetings for students on your caseload
Complete quarterly progress reports for all students receiving services
Collaborate with families, administrators, testing specialists, counselors, and related service providers to promote academic, physical, and social-emotional growth
Partner with general education teachers through regular team meetings to support student inclusion and access to the curriculum
Support the preparation and administration of standardized assessments and accommodations as required
Participate in professional development, curriculum planning, and other school-based initiatives to maintain and enhance instructional effectiveness
Perform other school duties as assigned (e.g., afternoon supervision, document shredding, etc.)
