Position Details

This is a full-time union position for a highly qualified K-12 Industrial Technology Teacher with an emphasis on Woodworking.

Qualifications: State of Michigan Teacher Certification required.

K-12 Industrial Technology (IX) endorsement.

Must be knowledgeable of Common Core State Standards and strategies to meet the academic, developmental and social-emotional needs of students.

Competency in the administration and interpretation of academic testing and development of behavior support plans.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents, and community.

Ability to engage and motivate a diverse group of learners.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely (oral and written).

Proficiency in Google Environment.

Excellent safety record.

Knowledge and competency of hand and power tool use. Physical and Environmental Demands: Ability to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time without fatigue or discomfort.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds50 feet.

Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and reach.
