Learning Empowered is seeking dedicated and compassionate Teachers to join our team. The Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that promotes the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth of children from birth to three years of age.The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills, a thorough understanding of early childhood development, and a genuine commitment to partnering with families and colleagues to ensure each child’s success.*Essential Functions:** Contribute to the creation and use of class schedules, lesson plans, and developmentally appropriate activities with the team to facilitate learning and growth within a therapeutic context.* Develop and maintain cooperative and positive working partnerships with staff and parents to ensure effective communication and relationships.* Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and daily activities that align with The Baby House’s mission and the developmentally appropriate practices outlined by NAEYC.* Provide attentive, responsive, and respectful care to infants and toddlers, ensuring their safety, well-being, and healthy development at all times.* Create a warm, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters trust, curiosity, and a sense of belonging, in accordance with NAEYC’s Code of Ethical Conduct.* Observe, assess, and document children’s growth and progress using developmentally appropriate assessment methods, and use this information to plan individualized learning experiences.* Build and maintain positive, respectful, and culturally responsive relationships with families, providing regular communication and partnering to support each child’s success, consistent with NAEYC’s family engagement standards.* Model best practices for early childhood education and care, mentoring and supporting assistant teachers and aides to ensure the highest standards of professional conduct and practice.* Maintain accurate records to comply with Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) licensing standards and The Baby House policies, while upholding NAEYC’s commitment to professionalism and confidentiality.* Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, and promote a safe and healthy learning environment in line with NAEYC recommendations.* Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice to remain current with research and best practices in early childhood education.* Participate actively in ongoing professional development and required training.* Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall success of the program.*Supervision Received: *Reports to the Center Director*Education, Licenses & Certifications:** Required: Minimum of AA degree/CDA/National CDA in early childhood education* Required: 2+ years’ experience working in program serving children ages birth to 5* Preferred/will train basic training in Trauma Informed Care, Conscious Discipline, Positive Behavior Support, Pyramid Model* Current certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid* Must pass all required Level 2 background screenings.* Minimum of one year of experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed childcare setting; two or more years preferred.* Solid understanding of child development principles and best practices for ages birth to two.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.* Strong organizational and leadership abilities.*Knowledge and Skills Required:** Ability to pass required background checks and Level 2 fingerprint clearance (and maintain throughout employment)* Must be able to lift children up to 45 pounds in times of emergency or to meet immediate needs* Physical ability to extend arms overhead, grasp with hands, stand, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, walk, sit on floor* Must be willing to work with children with serious behavior problems that may include toileting assistance, aggression, conduct and temperament disorders* Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills* Must possess excellent organizational skills and be able to perform in an empowered environment by working collaboratively with other professionals, personnel and direct service providers* Demonstration of good judgment, initiative, reliability, and trustworthiness* Adherence to a code of conduct that includes professionalism, confidentiality, respect and kindness in word, deed and action with all participants of the program including staff* Must be familiar and comfortable working with diverse populations* Understanding of the rules and procedures for reporting suspected child abuse* Able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of our clients* Ability to use basic computer software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Email client, Internet) in a Windows environment to communicate and maintain records* Willingness to learn, grow and contribute to the program and its success*Hours:* Full time (40 hrs/week), Year Round *FLSA:* Hourly/ Non-Exempt*All Learning Empowered employees are hired At-Will.
