Job Summary Infant Toddler Teacher
Under the Center Director/Assistant Director/Site Coordinator, the Infant Toddler Teacher provides effective instructional strategies that are developmentally appropriate for ages 6 weeks to 3 years old. Through classroom management, providing a classroom environment that is nurturing, supportive, and positive. Curriculum and environment are tied to learning outcomes, assessments, evaluations, and ongoing communication with parents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Models language, interactions, positive behavior and guidance strategies to ensure high quality teaching and learning.
• Plans and implements a curriculum that is responsive to children’s individual needs, interests and developmental levels, while fostering academic readiness
• Organizes own time and resources to ensure all materials are ready so the curriculum/lesson plan is implemented appropriately and according to plan.
• Establishes and maintains a clean, safe and effective environment by following all health and safety rules for the center, in conjunction with state, federal, NAEYC and One Hope United’s health and safety guidelines.
• Appropriately cares for equipment so the equipment is safe, clean and accessible to children.
• Always supervises children by sight and sound
• Responsible for weekly completion of TSG GOLD
• Schedules and conducts parent-teacher conferences at least twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring.
• Communicates regularly with families in order to develop effective partnerships.
• Provides opportunities for families to volunteer and participate in classroom activities.
• Completes all required paperwork so that paperwork is well-written, thorough and completed in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates an understanding of and a commitment to follow One Hope United’s Culture of Respect, in conjunction with the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct.
• Actively participates in meetings and assists in planning center-wide activities.
• Completes a minimum of 20/30 hours of professional development training hours annually, through participation in staff meetings, in-service days, workshops and conferences.
• Maintain a log of professional development training hours in Gateways.
• Pursues and achieves applicable ECE Credential and requirements for local funding sources, i.e. paraprofessional license.
• Assist children with daily activities (feeding, diapering, and hand washing).
• Provide primary caregiving for the children in the classroom.
• Attend and engage in occasional parent participation events.

LOS – Salary/Hourly – Grade – Date HR Approved
• Be responsible for completing daily sheets and daily activities pertaining to eating, sleeping, and diaper changing (per center policy).
Qualifications
Education/Credentials: AA of Higher Preferred or 30 Credits in ECE,
however 6 ECE Credits is all that is required, per DCFS . Pursues and achieves applicable Gateways credential or completes required ECE Level 1 training that meets CCAP requirements. Willingness to achieve Infant/Toddler Credential Level 3 or Higher dependent upon center need.
Experience: 1 year of experience preferred.
Other: Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with OHU required levels of coverage for auto insurance.

1. Proficient computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and adaptive skills to expand
software application skills as necessary
