Position Summary:

The Infant/Toddler teacher is responsible for the day-to-day care of toddlers in the classroom. The teacher plans creative, educational, fun activities for them as well as addresses their basic needs.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 10 AM - 6 PM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Engages parents, and provides nurturing and comfort to children. Creates and implements weekly lesson plans for toddlers. Ensures cleanliness, proper arrangement, organization and stimulation in indoor/outdoor play areas. Writes daily reports to parents detailing sleeping, eating and diapering activities for the day. Ensures that parents sign their children in and out of childcare using the form provided. Tracks inventory of toddler age appropriate toys and educational materials and informs the Director when supplies are low. Assists in the sorting, storage and distribution of children's program donations. Participates in relationship-based practice and reflective supervision. Attends and participates in weekly staff meetings and trainings appropriate to this position. Enrolls in the Maryland State Child Care Credentialing Program, complete 12 hours of continuing education a year following the state guidelines and maintain CPR/First Aid certification. *Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

Pay: $19.61/hr

Experience, Education, Certifications/Licenses Must be 20 years old or older. High school diploma or GED required, some college preferred. 90-hour Early Childhood Education certificate and 45-hour Infant/Toddler certificate required. One (1) year experience working with infants and toddlers. Knowledgeable about the impact of intimate partner violence and trauma on child development, behavior and on their families. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Ability to respond quickly to children who may be in danger of getting hurt, in the classroom and on the playground. Ability to pass a criminal background check.
