POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for a knowledgeable and passionate high school science educator to teach Biology. KIPP Indy science teachers are responsible for delivering inquiry-based instruction that helps students understand and apply key scientific concepts while developing critical thinking skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop, and deliver engaging lesson plans for Biology that align with state standards.
Foster scientific inquiry and experimentation in the classroom.
Regularly assess student progress and use data to inform instruction.
Maintain an organized and safe laboratory and classroom environment.
Strong classroom management
Build relationships with students and families to support academic and personal success.
Collaborate with the academic team to plan instruction and align curriculum across grade levels.
Provide real-time feedback to students to promote their growth in science.
Use differentiated instruction and scaffolding techniques to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Actively work with academic coaches to continuously improve instructional practices, embrace feedback, and implement strategies for professional growth.
Take ownership of your professional development by seeking out learning opportunities and reflecting on your teaching practices.

QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Indiana teaching license with certification in science (required).
Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related field (required).
Experience teaching high school science (preferred).
Strong record of helping students succeed academically (preferred).
Expertise in creating a safe and engaging lab environment (preferred).
Commitment to KIPP Indy’s mission and vision (required).
Pass a criminal background check (required).
Additional Information
Licensed teacher starting at $50,000
Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a highly competitive benefits package. Opportunities for performance-based bonuses are also available.
