Cen-Tex Family Services, Inc. (Cen-Tex) is a private, non-profit agency founded in 1993. Cen-Tex receives grant funds to provide Early Head Start/Head Start programs in Bastrop, Lee, Fayette, and Colorado counties. About the Role:

The High School Teacher at Smithville CDC, SMH, plays a pivotal role in shaping the academic and personal development of students in grades 9 through 12. This position involves delivering comprehensive and engaging instruction aligned with state and district educational standards to foster critical thinking, creativity, and lifelong learning. The teacher will create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and addresses diverse learning needs. Collaboration with colleagues, parents, and the community is essential to support student success and well-being. Ultimately, the role aims to prepare students for post-secondary education, career readiness, and responsible citizenship through effective teaching and mentorship.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant subject area.
• Valid teaching certification/license for secondary education in the applicable state.
• Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter and curriculum standards for high school level.
• Strong classroom management skills and experience working with adolescents.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Education or related field.
• Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive education practices.
