Job Overview:
A private school in Detroit is seeking a dedicated and skilled High School Math Interventionist to provide academic support to students in grades 7-12. This full-time, salaried position requires an 8-hour workday, with a flexible start time between 7:00-8:00 AM and an end time between 3:00-4:00 PM, based on the interventionist's preference.
Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted math intervention in one-on-one and small group settings for high school students
- Design and implement academic and social-emotional interventions tailored to student needs
- Administer and analyze universal screeners to guide instructional planning
- Monitor student progress every 8-10 weeks and adjust strategies based on data
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and school leadership to align intervention efforts
- Maintain accurate and compliant records of student interventions and progress
- Communicate regularly with families to discuss student progress and support strategies
- Incorporate Restorative Practices into daily interactions with students and staff
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science or Arts in Education or Mathematics
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate math endorsement(s) as required by the Michigan Department of Education
- Meet "Highly Qualified Teacher" requirements
