High School Special Education Teacher needed for Philadelphia Charter School

The Invo-Progressus team currently has full time need for a High School Special education teacher.
The successful candidate will work with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities. They will adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects to students with mild to moderate disabilities. This position requires patience, creativity, and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities: Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Develop, implement, and review IEPs for each student, ensuring that their specific needs are met and goals are achieved.
Instructional Planning and Delivery: Adapt and deliver instructional materials and lessons tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities.
Assessment and Evaluation: Monitor student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional methods and materials. Adjust strategies as necessary to ensure student success.
Classroom Management: Create a safe, positive, and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
Collaboration: Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure that students receive comprehensive support.
Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.
Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations related to special education.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field. A Masters degree is preferred.
Certification: Valid Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certification.
Experience: Prior experience teaching students with special needs is highly desirable.
Skills: Strong knowledge of special education principles, practices, and methodologies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop and implement effective instructional strategies.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to work with students with diverse needs.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
