General Description:
This position provides an opportunity for an energetic and highly organized teacher of visual art to teach photography in the upcoming school year, with the possibility of additionally teaching computer graphics, graphic design, or studio art in the future.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Advanced understanding of photography
- Ability to handle multitude of varying and complex issues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Computer/media arts experience (including iPads)
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience teaching photography at beginner, intermediate, and high school advanced levels.
- Experience with computer graphics/graphic design and general studio art.
- Maintains artistic endeavors and art making in photography and other media.
- Broad knowledge of visual art history
- Experience collaborating with colleagues in the fine arts and other subject areas
- Experience exhibiting student artwork
Essential Job Duties (not limited to):
- Work in collaboration with building colleagues and district visual art teachers to maintain district visual art curriculum and assessment practices
- Maintain student art exhibits in designated areas throughout the school and in other community venues when appropriate
- For the 2025-2026 school year, the teacher is responsible for teaching five sections of a 4-year photography program in both digital and darkroom photography.
- In following years, the teacher may be responsible for teaching courses in computer graphics, graphic design, and/or studio art.
