***** Heath Assistant Teacher

Job ***** The Lawrence County Career and Technical Center is seeking a passionate and highly skilled Health Assistant teacher to join our dedicated team for the upcoming academic year. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive instruction in all facets of health assistant CIP Code 51.0899 and the

Certified Nurse Aide Program to students in grades 10-12, preparing them for successful careers health care.

Career and Technical Instructional Certificate (2600) for Health Assistant (2202):

You must possess or be eligible to obtain a valid/active Pennsylvania Career and Technical Instructional Certificate specifically for Health Assistant.

Wage-Earning ***** You need four years of wage-earning experience in the occupation to be taught.

Occupational Competency Evaluation Credential ***** You must pass the Occupational Competency Evaluation Credential Review.

Registered Nurse (RN): Be a graduate of an approved school of professional nursing AND currently licensed as an RN in Pennsylvania (preferred): or Other Licensed/Certified Healthcare ***** Be a licensed/certified healthcare professional with a minimum of a bachelors degree and currently licensed/certified in your field of practice.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Be a Licensed Practical Nurse AND have

passed the Health Assisting Occupational Competency Assessment (2202).

OTHER *****

Teaching ***** Prior teaching and/or supervisory experience is preferred.

Technology ***** Experience with using technology for instruction, communication, and workflow is preferred.

Long-Term Care ***** A minimum of one year of clinical experience in long-term care/geriatric, and/or home health nursing is required for Nurse Aide Instructors.

Teach the Educator (TTE) ***** Evidence of completing Pennsylvanias Teach the Educator (TTE) Workshop is required for Nurse Aide Instructors.

CPR ***** Maintain current CPR certification.

Criminal History and TB Test ***** Maintain evidence of acceptable PA Criminal History Record Information Report and a negative test for tuberculosis.
