A full-time teaching opportunity is available for a High School Math educator experienced in or willing to work with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. This position is based in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, within a high school setting. While American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency is preferred to support direct communication, part-time candidates without ASL skills may be considered if they are able to work alongside an interpreter. Key responsibilities include instructing a caseload of approximately 55 high school students across four different classes. Subjects primarily involve Algebra and Personal Finance, with the possibility of teaching other math-related content. Many students in this caseload read at elementary levels (approximately 1st to 4th grade), requiring differentiated instruction and an adaptive teaching approach. Preferred qualifications include: Experience teaching math to high school students, particularly in Algebra and Personal Finance Knowledge of ASL or willingness to learn and collaborate with interpreters Experience working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students is highly desirable Background in special education and working with special needs students is a strong plus Ability to tailor lessons to meet diverse learning needs and reading proficiency levels This position is offered on a contractual basis for the full school year.
