A dynamic opportunity is available for a certified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to support students across multiple districts in the Newark, NY area. This itinerant position serves K-12 students, focusing on delivering specialized instruction and support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners in grades K-12.
Responsibilities include:
Providing direct instruction and support tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Developing individualized education plans and adapting curriculum to meet student needs.
Collaborating with school staff, families, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support.
Traveling between districts to serve a diverse caseload effectively.
Qualifications:
Active New York State Teacher of the Deaf certification.
Proficiency in American Sign Language to facilitate communication and instruction.
Experience working with students across elementary, middle, and high school grade levels.
Flexibility and strong organizational skills required for managing an itinerant caseload.
Location: Newark, NY area serving multiple school districts.
