A rewarding opportunity is available for a certified Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students, serving grades K-12 across multiple school districts in the Rochester, NY area. This itinerant contract position offers a dynamic teaching experience by supporting students with hearing impairments from kindergarten through 12th grade.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction and support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in grades K-12
Provide itinerant services across several districts, ensuring accessibility and continuity of education
Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Utilize American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency to effectively communicate and engage with students
Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Active New York State Teacher of the Deaf certification
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) essential for effective communication
Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a K-12 setting preferred
Ability to manage a caseload across multiple districts efficiently
Location: Rochester, NY and surrounding districts (itinerant role)
