Duties

Teacher Responsibilities:

Assist the Lead Pre-K Teacher in implementing Georgia Pre-K curriculum and daily classroom activities. Support children's learning through small group work, whole group instruction, and individualized attention. Promote positive interactions and social-emotional development. Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom that meets Bright from the Start licensing and Pre-K program standards. Participate in professional development, planning sessions, and parent engagement opportunities. Work collaboratively with fellow staff, administration, and families to support student success.

Requirements

Per Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) Pre-K Program Standards, Assistant Teachers must meet one of the following:

Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field OR Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential OR Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) in Early Childhood Education OR Current enrollment in an approved credential or degree program with progress toward completion

Satisfactory Background Check Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a Georgia Pre-K program CPR/First Aid certified Excellent communication and teamwork skills A nurturing, positive attitude and commitment to developmentally appropriate practices
