*Job Description: Assistant Teacher*

As an Assistant Teacher at LWELC, you will be expected to help manage the overall operation of classroom, which includes (but is not limited to):

* Maintain a safe and clean learning environment on a daily basis. * Develop and build parental rapport with positive and professional relationships. * Ensure safety and health of children by providing consistent, positive, caring environment to children in care. * Gathering dishes after meals. * Light cleaning duties (sweeping, mopping, washing tables, etc.) * EOE

*Skills:*

* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written * Team work skills * The ability to multitask and take on different roles * Leadership Skills * Customer Service skills in interactions with parents and guardians * Knowledge/experience in child development (preferred)

*Requirements:*

1. Must be at least 18 years of age.

2. Pediatric CPR and First-Aid Certified, or willing to obtain.

*Preferred: *

_meet 1 of the 3 requirements_ listed below to be considered Lead Qualified per KDHE requirements:

* 6 months of experience in a licensed _Child Care Center (ages 12 months to 2.5 years)_

*OR*

* 3 credit hours of relevant courses and 3 months experience _(ages 12 months to 2.5 years)_ in a licensed _Child Care Center._

*OR*

* CDA (Child Development Associate)
