We are looking for a Full Time Preschool Teacher (children ages 3-4 years old) excited to impact the lives of students in a professional and exciting early childhood setting. The Goddard School is looking for good people to join our team, support our full day learning and childcare program. The position is Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm. Pay increase based on job performance and review of position.
Responsibilities:
Work with preschool aged children (ages 3 and 4 years old) Follow a full schedule of activities and discover suitable teaching material Provide basic care and caregiving activities Write age appropriate lesson plans and use a wide range of teaching methods (stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing etc.) to enhance the child's abilities Positive and professional communication with parents on a daily basis Observe children's interactions and promote the spirit of concord Collaborate with other colleagues Adhere with teaching standards and safety regulations as established by the official sources
Skills: Proven experience as a child care / daycare teacher Excellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods Methodical and creative Patience, flexibility and love for children Strong communication and time management skills Certificate in first aid and CPR (not required; we will provide training)
Qualifications: High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred 1-2 years of previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred Has successfully completed state-required pre-service training Develops relationships and communicate effectively with children, parents, and faculty members Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
