The Floater Teacher provides vital classroom support across all age groups, stepping into different roles as needed. A floater should demonstrate flexibility, awareness of child safety, and a positive attitude while adapting to different classroom routines and staff.
Duties
Key Responsibilities:
Support teachers with supervision, activity setup, clean-up, and routines (diapering, meals, naps, transitions).
Build relationships with children across age groups while maintaining familiarity with each room’s expectations.
Follow DHS supervision rules, including sight-and-sound observation at all times.
Ensure cleanliness and sanitization standards are upheld when transitioning between rooms.
Classroom Expectations:
Ability to follow multiple routines and communicate effectively with multiple teachers
Reinforce consistent behavior expectations across age groups
Reliable presence during teacher breaks, absences, or transitions
Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Must be at least 18 years old
Clear DHS background check and health documentation
Nice To Haves
Experience in childcare strongly preferred
