Position: ESL Teacher

Summary:
Seeking a dedicated ESL teacher to support English Language Learners in Grade 7 and 8. The role involves facilitating language development, guiding students’ academic progress, and collaborating with school staff to ensure effective integration and support for ESL students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a liaison between ESL students, staff, and families

• Recommend ESL program entry/exit based on established criteria

• Administer mandated language proficiency assessments

• Track student progress and maintain accurate records

• Plan and deliver ESL lessons based on research-based best practices

• Modify and provide learning materials suited for English learners

• Collaborate with general education teachers to support classroom integration

• Maintain communication with families regarding student progress

• Participate in ongoing curriculum review and professional development

• Support school-wide initiatives and perform other assigned duties

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education

• Valid ESL Program Specialist Certificate (PK-12)

• Familiarity with Pennsylvania regulations related to ESL/ELL education

• Clearances: Criminal Record, Child Abuse, FBI Background

Preferred Knowledge & Skills:

• Experience in ESL/ELL education and instructional strategies

• Familiarity with RTII, PBIS, and InTASC standards

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Ability to differentiate instruction and use technology to enhance learning
