Eastpointe High School is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven English Teacher to serve our diverse student population, including at-risk high school students, those pursuing alternative education pathways, and students re-engaging through our Dropout Recovery Program. This full-time position is designed for educators passionate about transforming lives and offering hope through personalized, flexible, and student-centered learning.
The English Teacher will support students in both blended in-person and online learning environments, with mornings dedicated to our brick-and-mortar campus students and afternoons focused on supporting students enrolled in our Dropout Recovery Program. * Deliver instruction in multiple formats: in-person classroom, lab, blended, and online.
* Provide differentiated support to meet the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of students.
* Support a caseload of Dropout Recovery Program students through academic guidance, mentorship, and regular progress monitoring.
* Offer one-on-one and small-group remediation for students who need additional academic support.
* Monitor student progress using Edgenuity data and other assessments; adjust instructional plans based on data insights.
* Collaborate with fellow faculty, academic advisors, and school leaders to support individual learning plans and student goals.
* Communicate regularly with students and families, maintaining accurate records of contacts, attendance, and progress.
* Support a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment.
* Participate in staff development, training, and Eastpointe's professional learning community.
* Assist with Summer School during the month of June.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (English preferred).
* Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate or eligibility for certification.
* Minimum 3 years of teaching experience, preferably with alternative education or at-risk populations.
* Experience with Edgenuity or similar online learning platforms.
* Strong ability to build rapport with diverse learners, especially students who have struggled in traditional school settings.
* Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, behavior management, and restorative approaches is a plus.
* Passion for closing learning gaps and helping students rediscover academic success and self-worth.
* Clear communicator with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
* Organized, flexible, and committed to continuous improvement.
