POSITION SUMMARY The elementary school teacher is responsible for creating a supportive learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth of students. The teacher plans and implements lessons in a variety of subjects, assesses student progress, and collaborates with parents, colleagues, and administrators to ensure the success of each child.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructional planning and delivery Plan, prepare, and implement lesson materials in accordance with district resources and alignment with State standards and Antioch CCSD 34's philosophy and objectives Employs a variety of instructional methods/techniques and materials to differentiate learning activities for all students Actively engage in all data related meetings including weekly student learning team (SLT) meetings Actively engage in all data related meetings including weekly student learning team (SLT) meetings Utilize technology devices to execute instructional technology to enhance learning Ability to use diverse instructional strategies and varied methods of assessment to provide a differentiated instruction Strong knowledge of the Science of Reading The classroom environment Create a positive classroom environment that is conducive to learning Encourage cooperative social behavior through games and activities Promotes and maintains appropriate student behavior Professional responsibilities Actively engage in all data related meetings including weekly student learning team (SLT) meetings Participates on committees to develop and improve instruction and/or other building level goals/initiatives Actively pursues continual professional growth and is committed to our vision of making our school a place of excellence Maintains accurate and complete records involving student information required by law, District policy, and administrative direction Ability to work collaboratively with grade level team and school teams Demonstration of strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communications skills with colleagues, parents, and administration Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional growth Shall assume any other duties as may from time to time be delegated by immediate Supervisor. Furthermore, the Supervisor shall make any adjustments in the scope of responsibilities as outlined above which will be in the best interest of the school district. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in elementary education Certification and license as required by the Illinois State Board of Education and the Regional Office of Education Previous teaching experience preferred Knowledge of current educational and instructional methodologies and techniques Knowledge of theories and practices of child development Salary and benefits aligned with AEEA Collective Bargaining Agreement located at: antioch34.com.
