Part-Time | Stipend: $2,200 per school year Westfield Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Elementary STEM Lead Teacher to support the implementation of high-quality STEM instruction across the district and at (Insert School Name). This part-time leadership position includes a stipend of $2,200 per school year and offers an opportunity to positively impact teaching and learning through curriculum support and professional collaboration. Position Overview: The STEM Lead Teacher will work closely with the Principal and the District STEM Coach of STE to support the effective integration of science and math programs, with an emphasis on Project Lead the Way (PLTW Launch) and ST Math, while also supporting Mystery Science and i-Ready Classroom Mathematics. General Responsibilities: Provide leadership in implementing high-quality science and math curriculum programming. Support progress, efficiency, and instructional quality across STEM programs. Serve as a liaison between classroom teachers, the Principal, and the STEM Coach. Assist with professional learning by facilitating PLCs, PD sessions, and faculty meeting presentations. Act as a model classroom for teacher and community observation. Attend 1-2 conferences or out-of-district professional development events per year. Manage, organize, and distribute curriculum materials and supply orders. Support new teacher onboarding in curriculum programming. Maintain systems for tracking ST Math usage and student progress; support classroom-level tracking. Organize school-wide challenges, incentives, and school-wide engagement efforts for ST Math and PLTW. Upload and regularly update curriculum resources on the district STEM Dashboard. Promote enthusiasm and participation in PLTW and ST Math using student-friendly characters (JiJi, Mylo, Angelina, Suzi). Identify and support students and teachers requiring additional STEM program support. Complete the Building Thinking Classrooms mini course. Complete tasks and attend monthly meetings outside of the regular school day and year as needed. Collaborate with co-lead to delineate STEM responsibilities (by grade level or program). Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the superintendent or designee. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required. Valid Massachusetts teaching license in Elementary (Grades 1-6) and/or Early Childhood (PreK-2). Training in PLTW Launch and Building Thinking Classrooms preferred. Willingness to travel for in-district and out-of-district events. Terms of Employment: Part-time role with flexible hours outside the regular school day. Annual stipend: $2,200. REPORTS TO: PreK-4 STEM Coach and School Principal Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield School Committee's policy on evaluation.
