A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available for an experienced educator specializing in early elementary education. This role focuses on a self-contained classroom serving students in grades Kindergarten to 1st grade, providing individualized instruction and support to small groups of 6-8 students with the assistance of a paraprofessional. The position requires a dedication to fostering a nurturing and structured learning environment tailored to the unique needs of young learners with special education requirements. Key responsibilities include: Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with state standards. Collaborating with paraprofessionals, families, and related service providers. Monitoring student progress and adjusting instruction accordingly. Maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere. Utilizing a variety of teaching strategies to engage students and address diverse learning needs. Qualifications: Bachelors degree or higher in Education or a related field. Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) Endorsement. Previous experience teaching Kindergarten and 1st grade students preferred. Strong communication and collaboration skills with both students and support staff. Position Details: Location: Naperville, IL. Full-time contract position during the current school year (CSY). 33.35 hours per week. Classroom size of 6-8 students with paraprofessional support.
