ELEMENTARY SPANISH LANGUAGE TEACHER
(1.0 FTE)
Essential Functions & Qualifications: State of Michigan Teaching Certificate Spanish (FF) endorsement
Spanish as a first language (preferred)
Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in the Spanish language
Experience teaching elementary school students
Ability to motivate and inspire elementary students
Successful classroom management strategies and skills
Knowledge in instructional practices for varied learning styles and individual student needs
Ability to understand, value, and positively respond to the unique developmental traits of elementary students
Enthusiasm, flexibility, and ability to work cooperatively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet student needs
Belief that all children can learn and ability to accept differences in students
Ability to transform instruction through the creative use of technology
Experience utilizing a variety of assessments to inform teaching
Understanding of developmentally-appropriate curriculum
Knowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
Team approach to planning and school-wide initiatives
Excellent organization and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening skills)
Willingness to participate in curriculum development, school improvement committees, and professional development opportunities
