Closing Date: until filled Wilson Reading Specialist to provide targeted reading instruction to students with dyslexia and other reading-based learning disabilities. The ideal candidate needs to be Wilson-certified and passionate about structured literacy instruction based on the Orton-Gillingham approach. This specialist will deliver intensive reading interventions using the Wilson Reading System® and support the literacy development of struggling readers across grade levels. This position will be dependent on the availability of state funds. Key Responsibilities: Provide individualized and small-group reading instruction using the Wilson Reading System (WRS) Assess students to determine eligibility for the Wilson program and track progress using formal and informal measures Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with WRS principles and student IEP goals (if applicable) Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and support staff to coordinate reading intervention strategies Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and instructional plans Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student growth and recommendations Attend professional development and stay current with research-based reading interventions Support school-wide literacy initiatives and contribute to a culture of reading success Qualifications Required: Current teaching certification (general or special education) Certified in the Wilson Reading System® (Level I Certification required; Level II preferred) At least 2 years of teaching experience Experience working with students with dyslexia and language-based learning disabilities Knowledge of other structured literacy programs and assessments (e.g., DIBELS, LETRS) Skills and Attributes: Strong understanding of the science of reading and structured literacy Excellent communication and collaboration skills Patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to instruction Data-driven decision making and instructional planning Work Environment:
