Building Teacher Leads
Objective
To appoint dedicated Building Teacher Leads across various North Lawrence Community Schools schools to facilitate the successful execution of the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) curriculum. These leads, representing each school, will possess in-depth knowledge of PLTW content, resources, and instructional methods. They will collaborate with educators, organize kits, facilitate material dissemination, contribute to curriculum development, and ensure effective communication within their school communities. The objective is to support teachers in delivering quality PLTW instruction, fostering a positive PLTW culture, and ultimately enhancing student learning experiences.

Teacher Lead Responsibilities-
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction: Understand the structure, objectives, and instructional methodologies outlined in the PLTW curriculum. Be familiar with the curriculum's sequencing, pacing, and teaching strategies to guide implementation effectively.
- Demonstrate knowledge of content: Have a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter covered within the PLTW curriculum modules and be capable of explaining and teaching these concepts to others.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of PLTW: Assist teachers in aligning their instructional methods and activities with PLTW's learning objectives and outcomes, ensuring students progress effectively through the PLTW curriculum.
- Demonstrate knowledge of resources: Be aware of available resources, both within and outside the curriculum, that can supplement and enhance PLTW teachings. This could include materials, online tools, or additional learning aids.
- Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues: Interact professionally and collaboratively with fellow teachers, administrators, and staff members to foster a positive working environment that supports PLTW initiatives.
- Assist with the dissemination of materials related to PLTW: Help distribute necessary materials, guidelines, and information related to PLTW curriculum implementation among teachers and staff.
- Lead PLTW teacher-led meetings (as assigned): Organize and conduct meetings among PLTW teacher leads to discuss curriculum updates, strategies, best practices, and other relevant information to enhance PLTW delivery in their respective schools.
- Contribute to scope and sequence work for K-5: Collaborate with educators to plan and align the PLTW curriculum across kindergarten to fifth-grade levels, ensuring students' cohesive and progressive learning experience.
- Support teachers with the implementation of PLTW: Offer guidance, resources, and assistance to teachers as they incorporate PLTW modules into their lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Model PLTW lessons as needed: Demonstrate effective implementation of PLTW curriculum modules in the classroom to provide examples and guidance to other educators as necessary.
