We are currently seeking passionate, dedicated Lead Teachers to inspire and educate in our Toddler and Preschool classrooms at our Early Learning Center in Monticello, NY.
HOURS: Up to 29.5 hours/week, from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm
PAY: $16 per hour
JOB STATUS: Part-time, non-exempt
YOUR ROLE INCLUDES:
Creating Adventures: Design and implement weekly lesson plans using the Creative Curriculum, engaging children in activities that promote development in all key areas.
Building Strong Relationships: Foster positive adult-child interactions using the CLASS method, ensuring every child feels heard, seen, and valued.
Prioritizing Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children under your care by adhering to ECERS/ITERS guidelines to maintain a nurturing environment.
Effective Communication: Keep an open line of communication with parents and caregivers through the Brightwheel App, email, and in-person meetings to promote collaboration.
Tracking Development: Continuously evaluate childrens developmental progress and hold regular parent conferences to discuss their growth, needs, and interests.
Supporting Transitions: Help guide families through transitions from toddler to preschool and preschool to kindergarten ensuring that each child receives the support they need at every stage.
Maintaining Records: Ensure accurate and up-to-date records, including attendance and meal logs, to keep everything running smoothly.
Team Collaboration: Keep Assistants informed about classroom activities, providing training and guidance to ensure alignment and team success.
Mentorship: Offer support and training to staff, interns, substitutes, and volunteers, helping them develop and excel in their roles.
Ongoing Education: Take advantage of continued in-service and educational opportunities provided by Healthy Kids, as were committed to investing in your growth.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associates degree in Child Development, a Child Development Certificate, Bachelors degree, or an equivalent qualification
OR
Infant and Toddler Child Care and Education Credential, or another Office-recognized credential specific to infant/toddler development (with 2 years of experience)
OR
Child Development Credential (with 2 years of experience)
OR
9 Credits in Early Childhood or a related field with a plan to complete an Associate or Office-recognized credential (with 2 years of experience)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 18 or older and possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
While having one year of experience working with children under 13 is ideal, we value potential and passion over experience.
You will need to pass a background check, including fingerprinting, references, and SEL & SCR clearance through the NYS Office of Children and Family Services.<BR>A doctor's approval to perform all job duties and be free from communicable diseases, including TB, is required.
Youre warm, friendly, and approachable, with outstanding people skills that shine when interacting with children, parents, and teammates. Professionalism, reliability, and punctuality are second nature to you.
Youre physically capable of bending, lifting, stretching, carrying (up to 50 lbs.), and keeping up with energetic kids!
